SSAEDU Distributed Sanitary Pads to Women in Jhugg

SSAEDU organised a community outreach drive on Konsiwas Road, Rewari (Haryana) to support women living in nearby jhuggi-jhopdi settlements with an essential need that is still ignored in many communities: menstrual hygiene.

During the visit, our team distributed sanitary pads directly to women in the area and spoke with families about basic, practical hygiene habits. The objective was simple and clear: help women manage their monthly cycle with safety, comfort, and dignity, without financial pressure.

Why This Initiative Matters

For many women in underserved communities, access to sanitary products is inconsistent due to cost, availability, and social hesitation. This often leads to unsafe alternatives, discomfort, and avoidable health issues. Menstrual hygiene is not a luxury. It is a basic requirement for health and daily life.

SSAEDU’s effort focused on reducing that gap at the community level—by taking support to the area rather than waiting for people to come to a clinic or centre.

What SSAEDU Did on Ground

  • Distributed sanitary pads to women in the Konsiwas Road settlement area

  • Created a comfortable environment for women to ask questions without hesitation

  • Shared simple hygiene awareness points related to safe use and cleanliness

  • Encouraged women to prioritise health and seek timely guidance when needed

Community Response

Women in the area welcomed the initiative and actively engaged with the team. Many shared that such support is rarely available at their doorstep. The drive reinforced an important truth: when outreach is respectful and practical, communities respond with trust.

Our Commitment

SSAEDU’s work is rooted in education, but community wellbeing is closely connected to it. A healthier home supports better learning, stronger families, and safer childhoods. Alongside education initiatives, SSAEDU will continue running need-based outreach programs that address real-life gaps especially for women and children.
