SSAEDU Organised a Free Skin Health Awareness and
SSAEDU conducted a community health camp in Arjun Nagar, Rewari (Haryana) with a simple purpose: to help families understand common skin problems and get timely support without financial burden. The camp focused on awareness, prevention, and basic treatment guidance for frequently seen conditions such as daad (ringworm), khaj/khujli (itching), fungal infections, skin irritation, and allergies.
For many families, skin issues are often ignored until they become severe, mostly due to lack of awareness, hesitation, or cost. Through this camp, SSAEDU aimed to bring clear information and practical support directly to the community.
Why This Camp Was Needed
In densely populated areas and during changing weather, skin infections and allergies can spread quickly especially among children and working adults. Conditions like fungal infections and itching are common, but they are also preventable when people know:
-
What causes them
-
How they spread
-
What hygiene practices reduce risk
-
When to seek help early
This camp was designed to address exactly that gap.
What Was Covered During the Camp
During the session, SSAEDU guided attendees on:
1) Common Skin Conditions
-
Daad (ringworm) and other fungal infections
-
Khad/khaj/khujli (itching-related complaints)
-
General skin irritation and rashes
-
Seasonal allergies and sensitivity-related reactions
2) Prevention and Hygiene Practices
Participants were educated on day-to-day practices that can reduce recurring infections, including:
-
Keeping skin clean and dry
-
Avoiding shared towels/clothes
-
Regular washing of clothes and bedding
-
Basic do’s and don’ts during infection periods
-
When home remedies are risky and medical guidance is needed
3) Early Identification
The camp also focused on recognising early signs so people can act before issues spread or worsen.
Free Medicines Distributed
As part of the camp, free medicines were provided to participants based on their reported concerns and guidance shared during the session. This was done to ensure that families who need immediate support do not delay care due to cost.
This initiative helped reduce the “wait-and-ignore” cycle that often turns small skin issues into longer problems.
Community Participation and Response
The camp saw active participation from local residents, including families and children. People engaged openly, asked questions, and shared concerns that they usually hesitate to discuss. The response reinforced the need for such awareness-based camps that combine education with practical help.
SSAEDU Commitment Beyond Education
While SSAEDU core mission is to support children through learning and development, community well-being is closely connected to education. A child’s health directly affects school attendance, attention, and confidence. By organising health camps like this, SSAEDU continues to support stronger, healthier communities—so children can learn consistently and families can live with greater stability.
What’s Next
SSAEDU plans to continue community outreach programs that address everyday needs, including health awareness, hygiene education, and support initiatives in areas where access is limited.
If you would like SSAEDU to organise a similar camp in your area, or if you want to collaborate as a volunteer/partner, we would be glad to connect.
